Pres du Port (translation: near the harbor) is located at the end of West Main Street in the town of Stonington, Maine, the most southern point of Route 15 as it winds down the Blue Hill peninsula and across Eggemogin Reach to the island of Deer Isle. This is the quiet end of town, but once here you can walk to everything: shops, galleries, restaurants, post office, bookstores, gift shops, market, and gourmet deli. The ferry for afternoon cruising or transport to Ile au Haut and the wild part of Acadia National Park is a ten minute walk. A lily pond is one mile east, a small sand beach is one mile west.
Within two hours drive are a variety of interesting places to visit: Blue Hill, Bucksport, Castine, Cape Rosier, Camden and Rockport, Bar Harbor, and Acadia National Park.
